Many of us want to contribute to our environment positively we try and do that by buying organic biodegradable products cutting out plastic, one straightforward and necessary way of going about it is to start at home and what you can do at home is separate your wet waste which is your kitchen waste from your dry waste which is paper, plastic etc. and if you can go one step, a tiny step ahead of that you can prepare your own compost, or if you have never made it, you have no idea how to go about it or if you have been trying it. Still, you think you’re going wrong somewhere. Let us look at a few points on making good all-natural compost.
The first step
The most important thing is to get some sort of a compost bin for yourself, now you can start with a mud cup or a compost bin which is made of terracotta, you can buy this online or from a shop nearby, mostly what it does is that there are three kinds of vessels. They have holes here for aeration, you need to see that there are three containers and once we fill up the first one it goes below, and the other, empty one comes up first, and when you add food waste to it so when we say food waste, we mean both cooked thins and uncooked. You can put anything in, and then you need to add some leaves so every day or every alternate day you have to keep adding dried leaves and food to this.
Next, you need to add is curd and you pour it above this now you don’t have to add curd every time you add food waste only to start we’re going to add curd. The curd will help to introduce microbes in the system which will help decompose our food waste into compost, the first thing that one feels goes wrong is there’s a lot of smell that starts coming out, now you have to understand a little science for that your food waste is nitrogen, and the leaves that we’re adding is carbon now if the nitrogen amount is too much you’ll start smelling so if you feel that continuously there’s too much smell which is unbearable add dried leaves how many how much of dried leaves do you add like a handful of dried leaves to your compost bin.
In a nutshell
You will have to take care of the compost and attend to it regularly, for example, if you are travelling for a month and are unable to take care of it while you are away, it will completely dry out. The compost is almost ready, but it’s scorched so what do you do when it’s dried you just add water whatever you add to your compost bin be mindful that you’re not adding too many lemons or chilli that would reduce the rate of decomposition.
LOS ANGELES, CA – No one wants to wear pants during the Summer. Honestly, it’s so hot sometimes I hardly want to put on undergarments. Naked and free is the way for me (yea!), but there are occasions during the Summer months when pants (well clothes in general) are a necessary look. High wasted, wide legged pants are my go-to for Summer soirees. A wide leg is a fashionable form of natural ventilation. H&M has a great collection of wide leg pants that are 1.) inexpensive and 2.) come larger sizes, which is helpful for us girls that are inbetween straight and plus sizes.
When wearing wide legged pants might I suggest pairing it with a fitted top and tucking it into your pants. This highlights your natural waist and really gives you a classy and chic look. Just a little Miss Kris style tip for your consideration. Plus click here to see how to accessorize your look with this tasseled straw hat.
A lot of moms are starting YouTube channels and blogs as a way to earn some secondary income because they stay at home most of the time and it is great to support such mompreneurs, short for mom-entrepreneur. Any channel is going to take a little while before it can be monetized and start earning new revenue and in that time it’s beneficial to get your personal finances in order and do the best you can with what you’re earning right now. If you’re starting a mom YouTube channel because you wanted to make money for your family, the top recommendation is to read a book which will help you to arrange your finances and get a better idea on how to manage money and resources.
The starting steps
Before you upload your first video or if you’re starting to upload, you should study YouTube as it takes time to figure out what works on YouTube and most of the people who are beginning mommy channels or YouTube channels in general probably watch a lot of YouTube but what they might not be watching or what you might not be watching is new YouTubers so while it’s essential to see the super successful YouTubers and what they’re doing it’s also imperative to look at people who are just starting to see what their videos look like and what works for them.
The YouTube mom market
People don’t know you, so there’s no real reason that they want to tune in to watch your family unless you have some extraordinary family or family setting so, for example, you’ll see YouTubers that have six kids, that are home setting in the middle of nowhere so if you have some unique aspect to your life or some entertaining value then that will probably help. It doesn’t apply to you if you’re just a normal suburban mom with 1 or 2 kids as it is tough to get a blog channel started. The best recommendation is to focus on a niche.
The zero-subscriber problem
The truth is everyone who starts their channel, starts from zero subscribers and zero views, and that’s just a hurdle that you’re going to have to get over. This is at the beginning, no one’s going to watch, but that’s okay that’s what you’re learning, and that’s when you’re probably making your least successful content because you’re just starting to figure it all out and the only way to figure it out is to get started and do it and
In a nutshell
It is not recommended that you post anything you’re not proud of but as the months go by if there’s a video that you don’t like anymore or you wish that you hadn’t edited that way, you can always privatize it. You don’t need fancy equipment to get started. Most of the popular YouTubers began with a phone; the only way to successfully make content is to be consistent.
God, often defined as a supreme guiding force that helps you get through the day no matter which part of the world you may belong to he can be seen as the giver, the preserver or the destroyer in Hinduism or merely the way the truth and the life as seen in Christianity which is part in the world you are in. God manifests himself in many shapes and sizes across the globe and now is seen in different avatars, one thing seems to unite all the gods together, and that is there is no blink amongst them, they all focus on the concept of the humility of the heart and the body and thus live by example as many as sociologists may say that just like a politician God too is only depicted as a representation of the self but yet somehow this common rule did not apply to the gods of the Indian subcontinent who seemed to delight themselves with the many an ornament which confuses a lot of non-believers, now as the saying goes nothing happens without reason so let’s explore the hidden symbolism behind this concept of being showered with jewels especially in a country that is famous for being known where people go to bed hungry.
The Vedas and other cultures
It is believed that since the Vedic time jewellery had a significant role to play amongst the devotees who aim to be closer to the divine from attaining divine consciousness or Chaitanya or only negativity or purifying their karma wearing jewellery and gold, in particular, was thus favoured by the masses. Still, practically speaking, man is attracted to all that shines and anything vibrant the shining ornaments helps match mind in such away from the middle of destructions that he focuses attention on the divinity with whom he wishes to be. With the Christians call this art of being easily distracted as the tempter the ornaments are integral to getting your attention as innately speaking, man has desires which distract him daily from his duties. Many cultures have understood this across the world. They have used this notion to strengthen the religious fervour of their flock for example in Portuguese forms of Christianity that is in most Portuguese churches across India you will notice that the entire church is laid bare. Still, the art and all the gilded types of ornamentation is focused on the altar where the attention of the flock needs to be with God.
Religions may do the same using cultural appropriate colours and subtleties like red use in Chinese or blue use in Jewish societies. Still, going by a satisfying practical answer is that as many bald over the years the customs and traditions remain imprisoned in the past this is a classic example gold was the primary currency used by many across the Indian subcontinent man was identified and associated by many hence it was only natural that they would use this to conquer the minds of many for a higher purpose.
Los Angeles, CA – So if you didn’t know, before I started blogging full-time I was a celebrity wardrobe stylist. I assisted some of the best stylist in the game and we worked with some of the biggest celebrities on the most exciting projects. I learned A LOT about fashion. I basically learned that everything I know, or thought was right about wardrobing was WRONG! lol
Over the years of assisting, I learned to push the envelope, avoid matchy-matchy, leopard is a neutral and mix the hell out of some patterns. As crazy as I would think something would look, it was always worked when it came to the final product. Recently my photographer Selena and I were shooting some images for my DIY kits and I told her eI wanted to avoid a traditional outfit pic. I was inspired by my old days as a stylist and wanted to push the envelope a little (aka no pants lol). If you follow me on insta (@MissKristagram) then you’ve seen a few of these, but I just wanted to share a few more. Hope this inspires someone to think outside the box today!
Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination it originates from 10th century France, and there are visual arts that include painting, sculpting, photography and filmmaking. There are also performing arts that include dance, theatre and singing. On the other hand, the craft is an activity involving skill in making things by hand it originates from West Saxon Northumbrian examples of crafts may include textiles, woodworking, paper crafts and pottery. A study conducted by students in Michigan, where they asked multiple participants to take a piece of paper and make an aeroplane, next they asked them to draw something that comes to their mind during the holiday season. After looking at the parts they had just made, they were asked to define which is considered an art and which is considered a craft. All of them said that making the aeroplane is a craft while drawing was an art, all of them had suitable reasons about why they thought so the art. These participants provided somewhat similar reasons while explaining whether the aeroplane or the drawing was considered an art or craft one of the reasons could be that our craft is usually made by hand and art could be regarded as something drawn or sculpted.
Ceramics is considered an art or craft
Ceramics can be considered both an art and a craft, ceramics is an organ itself like many other subjects and fine art but the term crafts is evolving in today’s society in the art world, and it also has been considered a craft. Ceramics requires focus and precision, it is both an art and craft, it asks you to imagine the shape and form of the object you are making at the same time the potter needs to apply his/her skills to make sure that the clay comes to form in the same shape as his/her imagination. Art requires you to think, imagine and process feelings, it is a portrayal of your inner self while craft helps to project your inner self into the outer world. In ceramics, it is essential to have a concrete image of what you are planning to create.
In a nutshell
The definitions of art and craft cannot be solidified or given a concrete form, an activity like painting or poetry is both art and craft because it involves both beautiful imagination and persuasive skill. Throughout many centuries the term art has been interpreted many different ways, language among many other factors have been influenced tremendously if a person sees a painting, they may be reminded of the language during that time every day all over the world. Arts and Crafts affect society, artists, parents, students and many others are always looking up to keep with the latest trends, for example, fashion design may be considered both an art and a craft over all the terms art and craft can be interpreted differently depending on the person, what do you think?
Friday, Friday we gotta get down on Friday! Sorry, but I had to. In a effort give you guys more DIY content (It’s my way of saying ‘Thank You’ for 2 years of DIY fun), I’ll be hosting a DIY Happy Hour every other Friday. Just one more project and a few more pretty pictures before the work week is over. I promise it’ll be an easy project you can tackle over the weekend just in time to wear to the office come Monday morning.
I’m currently obsessing over anything neon. This project was inspired by Noir Jewelry’s use of neon rope and the jeweled decadence that Erickson Beamon always delivers. Enjoy!
Materials: Neon Rope, Cuffs, Glue
DIY TIP: For those cuffs with fancy designs simply add a piece of neon duct tape to the back. This will help when applying the glue.
Add a dab of glue to the back of your cuff to anchor the rope. Start wrapping! The trick to creating a great wrap is to pull tight and make sure there is no space left between the rope.
You can wrap vertically as I did with the purple rope or you can wrap horizontally like I did with the pink. If you want your rope to lay horizontally it’s easier to pre-cut your rope into pieces and apply them directly to your cuff with glue. Remember to apply glue to any loose ends to prevent the rope from fraying.
I embellished my cuff by snipping off an earring post and gluing the earring directly to the rope. You can use a brooch, jewels, a pendant or whatever piece of bling you wish!
Or maybe you’d rather have a multi-colored cuff. Simply change the color of your rope by trying a knot to the end of a different color. You can add as many colors as you wish. Just be sure the knot is hidden underneath the cuff so it won’t show when you wear it. The possibilities are endless!
And there you have it! A little DIY inspiration to kick off the weekend. Now if you’ll excuse me, my neon rope cuffs and I are out the door. Happy hour doesn’t last forever.
A dilemma every home buyer has to sort through in their personal home buying process, and that’s the difficulty of whether to buy a new home or a resale home let’s go ahead and tackle the resale home first because the reality is there are several reasons that a home buyer might prefer a resale house even if that used home may need some extensive work, for instance, a buyer of a resale home may have the heart set on moving to a specific neighbourhood in the city or a close-in suburb where newly constructed houses are rare or not even available unless they buy an existing home or perhaps the home buyer may be a do-it-yourself affection and relish the opportunity to take an old house and transform it even if it takes considerable time and money, so, understandably, some home buyers prefer an existing home in an older neighbourhood yet simultaneously there are significant advantages to buying a brand-new home.
Why a new home over a used or resale home?
The first motivation would be community amenities face it, many new homes are built in over-the-top master-planned communities resort-style community centres, pools and clubhouses also many new home neighbourhoods feature walking and nature trails as well as protected open lands and new homes are almost always situated in close proximity to some of the best schools and shopping that’s nearby you know it’s an age-old real-estate proverb ‘the three keys to real estate is location location location’ without fail most home builders focus on premiere locations to build their homes and in addition to premiere locations a second motivator for a new home is the home buyer can design their dream home their way you see a discriminating home buyer may ask themselves why would I settle for someone else’s choices when I can select my own favourite cabinets countertops appliances carpets and Florence and of course the buyer of a new home can choose high ceilings walk-in closets stunning bath and kitchen fixtures, lighting and other options that they actually prefer and ultimately a brand new home will reflect their personal style and not someone else’s taste.
The new homebuyer benefits from, and that’s energy cost savings today’s new homes are far more energy-efficient than homes built ten or twenty years ago. It’s a game over energy-efficient advantage of both heating and cooling seasons to own a brand new home plus with state-of-the-art ventilation and air filtration there’s unparalleled indoor air quality and let’s not forget lower maintenance is mentioned earlier there are indeed some do-it-yourselfers who love to spend their weekends and holidays repairing and fixing their home. Still, if your home buyer is not a do-it-yourself person and would prefer spending their weekends in downtown relaxing and doing fun things with their friends or family, it’s a pretty obvious choice to own a brand-new home because a new home is built with all the cutting-edge building products.
Today DIY is a little special. I’m actually revisiting one of my first Glitter ‘N Glue post ever. In 2010 I transformed a pair of flip flops into a pair of tribal inspired gladiator sandals using ribbon. Wrap sandals are again very popular this Summer so I decided to take an old project and elaborate just a little. These new and improved wrap sandals are the perfect accessory for my upcoming vacation.
Materials: Flip Flops, Lightweight Oblong Summer Scarf, Scissors
The scarf is key to the success of this project. It’s important that your scarf is oblong and light. Forever 21 has tons of inexpensive scarves that are perfect for this project. I love this one, this one and this one. A silk scarf or lace materials would also be pretty fab for this project. So many options!!!!!!!!! (<- Clearly I’m excited)
Using your scissors, cut the scarf in half so that you have two long pieces of fabric.
Fold the scarf in half.
Slide the scarf under the “V” of the flip flop.
Place the loose ends (the straps) through the loop and pull tight.
Slide the knot to the bottom of the “V” and separate the two fabric straps.
Wrap the fabric straps around the “V” of the flip flops.
I’m so excited to rock these on the beaches of Hawaii. There are so many options. Not only are there many different ways to wrap the ankle straps, but I plan on bringing a few different patterned scarves to change up my look!
I’m literally obsessed with wrapping bows. I wear them as brooches and headpieces. I even place them in my tree as ornaments. They’re just so perfect, especially when then come in bold colors or metallics. Here’s a fun wrapping bow garland DIY that’s so festive and easy to make with the extra bows you still have laying around.
A Package Of Bows
Tape (if needed)
Cut a piece of wrapping ribbon the desired length of garland
Add packing bows by removing adhesive protector and adding it to the ribbon
Add another bow to the reverse side.
